なだらかな三笠山の稜線から、白い月が静かに顔を出す宵。秋草が風に揺れる春日の里を、白馬に跨る若き貴公子が進みます。

画題は『伊勢物語』の幕開け、「初冠（ういこうぶり）」。元服を終えたばかりの男が、のちに運命を変える美しい姉妹を垣間見る直前の、みずみずしくも静謐な情景です。

近代京都画壇において歴史風俗画に新境地を拓いた松本一洋は、あえて劇的な場面を描き切ることはせず、物語の余白に息づく「静寂」を絹本の上に写し取りました。透明感のある青い狩衣と、桔梗や萩の繊細な筆致が、観る方の審美眼にそっと寄り添います。

千年の時を超えて語り継がれてきた王朝の雅。日々の暮らしの中に「文化の断片（Legacy）」を静かに受け継ぐ時間は、心豊かな「持続的な贅沢（Sustainable Luxury）」をもたらします。

A pale moon gently rises over the undulating ridges of Mount Mikasa. A young nobleman on a white steed rides quietly through the autumn grasses of Kasuga village.

This piece captures the opening chapter of The Tales of Ise, "Uikoburi" (Coming of Age). It portrays the serene, fresh moment just before the youth glimpses the beautiful sisters who would forever alter his destiny.

Ichiyo Matsumoto, who pioneered a new frontier in historical genre painting within the modern Kyoto art world, deliberately avoided dramatic scenes. Instead, he captured the "silence" breathing in the margins of the story onto the silk. The translucent blue of the hunting cloak and the delicate brushwork of the bellflowers and bush clovers speak softly to a refined aesthetic sense.

Courtly elegance, cherished for a millennium. The time spent quietly inheriting this fragment of culture (Legacy) in everyday life brings a deeply enriching, sustainable luxury.
